Here at Elevations Learning Academy, we have an AMAZING, VPK program! 

​

When it come to curriculum, we utilize every resource to meet weekly benchmarks/goals.  Our more structured learning style utilizes the Abeka curriculum, but we are definitely outside of the box when it comes to teaching.

 

CHILDREN LEARN:

 

• literacy skills

• how to read fluently

• how to write correctly

• weekly vocabulary

• number recognition, simple adding, subtracting, comparing/contrasting, number value, problem solve, and etc...

• how to use computers to assist in learning

• to explore the community to learn subjects hands-on, while asking questions

• public speaking,through skits, pretend play, and quarterly presentations

• how to socialize and make friends, through group activities, pretend play, and a little help from their teacher.

• the power of communication and positive behavior, through practice, daily expectations, reminders, and activities

• to play games, such as; uno, checkers, jenga, connect four, listening games, charades, tic-tac-toe, twister, and all sorts of board games.

• how to be independent; tying shoes, swinging, riding bikes, button/zipping clothes, asking questions to get what they need and/or want

• how to become leaders; through guest speakers, rotating group leaders, picking groups, role playing, making decisions that will affect their group, and through activities design to teach leadership skills.
